Can I find overseas buyers on Snapchat? Markets, Public Profile and Snap Ads explained

In forceOfficial textChecked
Answer

Snapchat suits consumer-facing small parcels and youth products, mainly in the Gulf countries and among young people in North America. It is not a B2B buyer-sourcing platform. It has 971 million monthly and 493 million daily users worldwide (A, Snap Q2 2026 results). In the UAE, ads can reach about 5.13 million people, 44.9% of the population (B, DataReportal, end of 2025). A business Public Profile is free; ads run through Ads Manager, which Snap says you can start at US$5 per day, with US$20–50 per day recommended to leave the learning phase faster (A, Snapchat for Business pricing page). Two different new-advertiser credit offers appear on Snap pages, so rely on what your Ads Manager shows.

Applies to
Chinese cross-border sellers who want to sell small consumer items to Gulf (Saudi, UAE) or young North American buyers.

1. Which markets and customers fit

North America DAU92 million, -7% YoYsame
Europe DAU98 million, -2% YoYsame
Rest of World DAU303 million, +12% YoYsame

Notes:

  1. Growth is outside North America and Europe, where DAU fell. This fits the Gulf focus, but Snap's release does not break out Saudi Arabia or the UAE.
  2. A Saudi Arabia reach figure was not confirmed (see Unknowns).
  3. Buyers are mostly young consumers. Our own judgment: impulse-priced small items (accessories, phone cases, small beauty and home items) fit best. Do not rely on Snapchat for large B2B negotiations.

2. How to register (personal, business, ad account)

Steps:

  1. Create a personal Snapchat account and turn on two-factor authentication.
  2. Create a Public Profile and an ad account through Snapchat for Business (links below).
  3. Prepare an email, a phone number and a payment method. Exact business-document requirements (such as a business licence) were not confirmed from an official page; follow the prompts in the console.
  4. Whether Chinese mainland companies have an official outbound-business programme or officially authorised agency account opening: not found (see Unknowns).
  5. This platform cannot be accessed directly from mainland China. Use it only through lawful, compliant means; this page gives no access methods.

3. Day-to-day operation

  • Posting frequency: no official recommendation found, so no number is given. Our own judgment: stay consistent, then adjust by results.
  • Account security: enable two-factor authentication, never share passwords, give admin rights only where needed. Snap's help centre describes privacy settings, passkeys and two-factor authentication (A, Snapchat Support).
  • Put your brand name, website and contact on the Public Profile.
  • Appeals: use the official forms at https://help.snapchat.com/. Do not trust anyone offering to "appeal for you" or sell accounts.

4. Ads and promotion

  • Names and rules of individual ad types: the help-centre pages could not be loaded in full (see Unknowns).
  • Ad review rules and prohibited or restricted categories were not confirmed. Check the in-console policy page before launch, especially for counterfeit goods, knives, batteries, supplements and adult products.
  • Suggested approach (our judgment): test 2–3 vertical video creatives at minimum budget, compare clicks and conversions, then decide whether to scale.

Snapchat+, Lens+, PlatinumConsumer subscriptions; price shown in-app before purchase; some plans not available in every regionBought via App Store or Google Play(A, plans help page)

Notes:

  1. The two credit pages differ and neither names eligible countries. Rely on what your Ads Manager displays.
  2. Snapchat+ is a consumer subscription (extra features, ad-free options, storage), not a business tool. We found no paid business subscription.

6. What results to expect

There is no reliable public average; Snap does not publish conversion or cost benchmarks by industry. To measure yourself:

  1. Metrics: cost per thousand impressions, click-through rate, add-to-cart, cost per sale.
  2. Duration: run past the learning phase (4+ days); judge after 2–4 weeks.
  3. Stop rule: if the test budget is spent with zero conversions, pause and change creative or market.
  4. Never promise customers or colleagues guaranteed orders.

7. Warning signs

  • Anyone selling "verified business accounts", aged accounts, or "account warming".
  • Requests to pay ad money to a personal account instead of topping up in Ads Manager.
  • Guarantees of orders, followers or ROI.
  • Fees to "unban" or "whitelist" an account.
  • Using multiple accounts, new devices or IP changes to evade a ban: not acceptable and risks a permanent ban.
  • Fake followers or reviews.

Unknowns

  • Saudi Arabia Snapchat ad reach (the DataReportal Saudi page could not be loaded).
  • Minimum budgets per optimisation goal, the full list of ad formats, ad review rules and prohibited categories: the Snap Business Help pages would not load.
  • Business-document requirements; any official outbound-business or authorised-agency channel for mainland China companies.
  • Which countries and dates each new-advertiser credit offer applies to.
