Small parcels from China to the EU: what taxes and fees are due on one order now?

Partly in force · partly proposedOfficial textChecked
Answer

Low value no longer exempts goods from VAT; up to €150 a €3 per-item duty may apply; from 1 Nov 2026 qualifying goods add a €2 handling fee per item.

Applies to
Ordinary e-commerce goods shipped directly from China to consumers in the EU (non-excise goods, to the EU VAT territory). Commercial bulk purchases, excise goods and special fiscal territories need separate checks.
