A CQC certificate is missing from the CNCA search: what to check after September 2026
Answer
Not necessarily a problem. Since September 30, 2026, certificates issued under CNCA's own rules can be checked in the CNCA lookup, while certificates issued under a certification body's own rules (for example CQC voluntary certification) can be checked only through that body's official channel, such as the CQC website. Find out which rules the certificate was issued under, then check in the right place.
- Applies to
- Buyers and sellers verifying CQC and other Chinese product certificates.
Where to check
| Certificate issued under | Where to check | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| CNCA certification rules (for example compulsory CCC) | CNCA lookup cx.cnca.cn, or the issuing body | SAMR Announcement No. 28 of 2026 |
| The certification body's own rules (for example CQC voluntary certification) | Only the issuing body's official channel, e.g. CQC website | Same; CQC notice of 2026-09-30 |
Results for bodies whose accreditation was cancelled, revoked or suspended carry a status flag.
Steps
- Read the issuing body, certificate number, certification rules, product model and validity on the certificate.
- Check in the channel shown above.
- Make sure holder, product and model match what the supplier told you.
- Save the date and a screenshot of your check.
Notes
- Lookup instructions printed on older certificates may no longer apply.
- The notice did not cancel certificates that were valid before.
- A certificate covers a specific model at a point in time, not every shipment.
