Chinese New Year 2027: when will factories close, and when should I order? in detail
As of our check on 26 Oct 2026, we had not located the State Council's 2027 holiday-arrangement notice. For comparison, the 2026 notice was published on 4 November 2025. For reference, the 2026 Spring Festival holiday ran 15–23 February 2026 (9 days). Ask each supplier in writing for their own closing and restart dates, and plan production and shipping around them.

- Buyers planning orders that would be produced or shipped in January–March 2027.
Dear friend,
Welcome! This letter sets out what you need to know, plainly and in order.
What is official so far
| Official status | Source | |
|---|---|---|
| 2027 holiday schedule | Not located as of 26 Oct 2026 | Searched the Chinese government policy library |
| 2026 Spring Festival (reference) | 15–23 Feb 2026, 9 days; working days on Sat 14 Feb and Sat 28 Feb |
Calendar dates for the festival itself do not establish the official multi-day holiday and adjusted working days. We will update this page when we find the State Council notice.
Why it matters even before the dates are out
- The national holiday calendar is not a factory closure schedule. Confirm each supplier's production stop, restart and pickup dates.
- Orders placed close to the holiday compete for the same production slots and shipping space.
- Things that usually stop or slow down: production, sample making, inspections, export paperwork and pickups.
These are practical patterns, not official rules; each supplier's dates differ.
What to ask your supplier now
- "What are your exact closing and reopening dates for Chinese New Year 2027?"
- "What is the last date to confirm an order so it ships before you close?"
- "If production finishes during the holiday, when will goods be picked up?"
- "Who can I contact during the holiday about my order?"
Get the answers in writing and add them to your order folder.
Still uncertain
- The official 2027 holiday arrangement. We will add it when we find the notice.
- How long individual factories close; ask each one.
